On Saturday and Sunday, the 2nd and 3rd of March 2024, we will have an international tournament, for players in the U16 Category.
This is a 7-aside tournament on grass football pitch, one of Asia’s most famous Youth International Football.

Final Program:

Transport Hua Hin to Bangok

• 3:30 pm: Meeting at Arena Sports Club – LOBBY
• 3:45 pm – 4:00 pm: Driving to Bangkok
  The meeting is on Friday at Arena Sports on the 1st of March at 3:30 pm – then we leave for Bangkok
• 10 players will be in a 12-seat van. They will always wear seatbelts, always. Coach Martin will be in the van, and Coach Steve and Coach Farid will be driving by car in the morning to prepare for the competition.
• Some food will be prepared and distributed in the van, so players can get proper food and avoid “highway” junk food before the tournament

Arriving at Hotel, around 8:00 pm

• The same 10 players will share rooms, 2 players per room, in Amaranth Suvarnabhumi Hotel.
• The coaches will have a room on the same floor, being sure lights are off quite early and no player (or coach :D) is visiting Bangkok by night 😉
• Some food will be ready so players can have a last meal before to sleep
• A short meeting will be done to arrange organization, and rules, and discuss the way to deal with a 2-day competition – “far from home”

Saturday Morning – Breakfast etc.

• 9:30 am: Breakfast
• 10:00 am: Alex and Harry join us at the hotel
• 10:30 am: we will have a meeting with a coach for 30 minutes
• 11:00 am: transport to the Stadium

Matches, the program

The actual program online is not updated, yet, the final match schedules for HHFA U16 are this one :

1. 12:20 – Match 20 minutes
2. 13:20 – Match 20 minutes
3. 14:00 – Match 20 minutes
4. 14:40 – Match 20 minutes
5. 15:20 – Match 20 minutes

The exact teams we meet will be adjusted very soon by organizers. We have 5 matches or 20 minutes on Saturday.

Lunch will be served but will be consumed after the last matches, at 3:40 pm, to avoid digestive problems.
Adapted nutrition will be provided to recover fast and effectively between matches.

We ask of course parents to not bring any food, drink, etc. to players.

After the matches – Saturday afternoon

We lunch immediately after the last match to optimize the recovery, and then we drive to the hotel where we will have an active recovery at the pool. We ask every player, Alex, and Harry, to be present, since it will be followed by a debriefing of the 5 matches.

• 5:00 pm: Meeting with coaches
• 5:30 pm: Free time
• 7 pm: Buffet dinner at the hotel
• 8 pm: Players in their Room for an early sleeping

Sunday, early wake-up

• 5:45 am: Players need to wake up at 5:40 am for a shower and be ready at 6 am at the Restaurant
• 6:00 am: Breakfast
• 6:30 am: Short activation (Harry and Alex need to be with us)
• 7:00 am: we drive to the stadium
• 8:00 am: Play-off Matches start
• 1:00 pm: Final match

Since we do not know the result, we might finish earlier, but also might stay till the final, concerning organizers and the other teams present in the competition.

• 2:30 pm: Back to the hotel for a shower and load the bags in the van

Transport Bangkok to Hua Hin

• 3:00 pm: Drive back to Hua Hin – players will stop on the way back for a diner
• Back on Sunday 3rd of March 2024 around 7 pm parents will be informed.

This Weekend is an opportunity for each player to live independently, with a group, with a goal (competition).
We have 4 adult staff in charge of the team (4 for 12 players), and we expect each player to be focused on the tournament, free to be only highly trained football players for 48 hours.

With all due respect, we ask the parents to not stay in the same hotel or simply visit them at the hotel (no problem for quick pick up or commute).

What do we take with us?

Normally, U16 does not ask for it, so I will answer briefly :

• Everything to play football, and we normally never try new shoes in competition. However, a spare shoe is highly recommended, if you have it.
• Your football kits of the academy: red, white, etc.
• New white socks (I will have some spare for sale, 100 THB / pair)
• Shin pads
• Pyjama
• Jacket for the van
• Small pillow if you want to rest in the van (your doudou is welcome)
• Book, music, card game if it helps you to have fun

Telephone, tablet…

• For 48 hours, players’ tablets and telephones will be used only for emergency
• We will ask players to not stay on screen: in the van, hotel, football field, etc
• We want to be sure that they connect, socialize, learn about each other
