Hua Hin Sport & Wellness Camp – When 7-year-old children deal with 20 hours of sport per week
You can find a lot of details about our 6-week Sports & Wellness camps for children, starting 15th of July 2024.

When it comes to children’s education, we are all full of clichés –
We love to repeat to each other what we have heard, we rarely verify or take the time to ask for a scientific reference or even some metadata to be sure that what we say or what we know about our children is proven.
A short introduction – profile and approach of kids’ training
Managing HH Football Academy for 2 years, dealing with more than 350 different families and children, more than 30 cultures and nationalities, helped me to meet so many versions of what we should do or not do:
- make a good football player
- be sure a player is not too tired
I have received some “warnings” asking me to supervise and :
- being sure that player doesn’t become too big, with too big muscles
- being sure that the strengths and conditioning sessions I have designed do not slow down the growth of the teenagers playing for my Football Academy
As a Track & Field athlete (Regional level in France), weekly training with worldwide athletes, and an emerging passion for performance pushed me to learn and certify myself as a running coach. It was 20 years ago.
I quickly updated my knowledge with strength and biomechanics certification, in France, then achieved a dream to work as a ski monitor in the Alpes, teaching skiing to the youngest while I was a student.
My experience but mostly the studies and information I found online daily pushed me to insist on strength training for kids.
It pushes me to explain to families I meet that children can do sport for a few hours per day since they are following a proper method.
Ipads, screens, and sedentarisation are worldwide health problems, recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), which recognizes at least 1 hour of activity per day for children. “at least”.
- To grow up healthy, children need to sit less and play more
- Physical activity recommendations
- Global recommendations on physical activity for health
- etc.
My son, 7, has dealt with more than 12 triathlon races last year (yes he was only 6), and he regularly swims 5km per week.
He also goes gym, 2/3 times a week per day.
He doesn’t deal with weight lifting but works his balance, coordination, and strength he can generate from functional movements and gravity rules.
He is doing well, sleeps early, and is amongst the tallest in his classroom and in his age group in the academy.
What about the Football Summer Camp?
We started on 15th July and the daily planning for the football camp is:
- 8:30 to 10:00: Football
- 11:00 to 12:00: Swimming
- 2:00 to 3:00: Stretnght or Basketball
- 4:30 to 6 pm: Football
It’s a total of 5 hours of sport per day, 20 hours per week.
We monitor children’s fatigue, but mostly their ability to focus, understand the drills, and complete the activities.
The program is designed for children
Kids participating in the camps have noticed so many times that training was easy. Especially the children who train daily in the football academy and know the intensity I usually add to my sessions.
I explained to them that a lot of low and easy sessions will make them stronger than just a few too-hard sessions.
We focus on pleasure, diversity, and progressivity – the best way for children to come back and not miss any training session.
Some children will finish soon their second week and some others will continue for a month.
We provide rich nutritive food
We work with F&G – Nutrition for Athletes, and we are sure that children get enough nutrients.
Forgot the fried food and sweeties, we daily serve avocado, spinach, beans, fish, protein pancakes, etc. and we have a self-service yogurt and dry fruits.
After the morning session of football, children have a breakfast rich in protein.
Around 20 minutes after the swimming class, they have a proper lunch, and get of course a collation anytime they need during the day.
The menu is rich and diversified, children choose what they like and we can customize it (I do not like mushrooms, I replace them with beans or spinach, I am vegan, etc… )
Let’s play!
To be sure the focus is maximized while they practice sport, we let them relax: we have hundreds of tracks and Hotwheels cars, legos, dozens of board games, chess, and a Playstation 5 with a limit of 2 games per player/day.
We play with them, we interact, but we let them go easily to optimize their recovery and also an infinite dose of endorphins.
This is raining season
Yes, Football has been invented in England, where it rains like… every day 😀
Our football academy practices in any weather – we only stop in case of storms & lighting.
For this Sports camp, we have decided to postpone the session in case of rain.
The kids and coaches go to the Lounge and we read the day to be sure the children have fun and practice more than ever.
Our sport Camp runs for 6 weeks, till 22nd of August.
It is the only Summer camp running from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm (pick is possible from 5:30 pm).
Children have different cultures and speak different languages, but we make them responsible for a lot of things, as a team, rarely as individuals.
We teach them socialization, autonomy, organization, and responsibility. (much more actually…)
We use games, toys, sports, and physical challenges.
We have 3 children from Russia, we will welcome 3 children from Japan in August.

More info
Sports
- We have 2 or 3 Basketball training sessions per week, which are highly recommended to develop coordination, accuracy, etc.
- We have 2 strength sessions per week: These sessions are done with body weight and challenge the youngest by working their balance, rhythm, and resistance, and discovering that their body is made of muscle groups they can control. This session is designed for the youngest, based on mini-games and progressive challenges.
- We try to Jujistu initiation – we will reconfirm very soon
To recover
Our Basecamp will be set up in a very comfortable lounge room and we will set:
- a stretching and resting area – with a comfortable floor + yoga mats
- a board games area (chess, monopoly, etc.)
- an art zone, for drawing and design
- a toy zone, with legos, Hotwheels, etc. (6 to 8 years old still enjoy it)
- a Playstation 5 – with limited time for each participant (this is not an E-sport camp :D)
- a mini library with English books, for the youngest
- we will run some cartoons, classic movies (Charlie Chaplin & Buster Keaton for example), and sometimes sports events like the Olympic Games, etc.)
We have built a safe and comfortable zone to be sure each child can have fun and feel happy.
