Get ready for the BSL International Football Tournament—let’s make it unforgettable!
The HHFA U8 and U12 teams will participate in the BSL International Football Tournament in December 2024.
As previously discussed, we were uncertain about participating in the BSL international football tournament in Bangkok on December 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2024.
This is a non-profit event for the academy, with costs divided among the families.
If too many families decide not to participate, we face two significant problems:
- Our squads will not be complete and ready for competition.
- Our budget will suffer a loss due to insufficient participation.
After my last message, I received some feedback, which I would like to share:
U8 Category:
- 13 responses were received from 13 players (100%).
- 11 positive responses (85% of the squad).
U12 Category:
- 13 responses were received from 16 players (80%).
- 20% of families have not yet replied.
- 12 positive responses (75% of the squad).
U16 Category:
- 9 responses were received for 12 players (75%).
- 25% of families have not yet replied.
- 5 positive responses only (41% of the squad).
In conclusion, U8, and U12 will participate in the tournament
We will proceed with two teams in the tournament: the U8 and U12 categories.
Unfortunately, we cannot field a U16 team due to only 5 confirmed players.
Budget Concerns
I have cut many costs and reduced our coaching staff to three: Steve, Martin, and myself. The transportation cost remains fixed, and we will continue using our comfortable 40-seat non-LPG coach bus. Additionally, the tournament registration fees per team are too high and cannot be reduced. I must keep this bus, as it will be dedicated to our academy for the entire weekend, transporting us wherever needed.
To make this tournament possible, I had to find new accommodation, and we will now stay in a hostel that is conveniently close to the pitch. This venue offers larger rooms, allowing 3 to 6 players per room, which will be more enjoyable for the children and make supervision easier for the coaches.
Coaches and staff will have dedicated rooms.
I am disappointed about the U16 selection, but I completely respect each family’s planning and budgetary decisions and each player’s choice. I am genuinely glad we can enter two teams for a memorable competition and a dedicated three days of football.
I still need a few payments to be completed, so please proceed as we must cover the full costs for the bus, tournament fees, and hotel reservations.
Make sure not to miss training and the friendly match on Saturday!
